About the Studio

We host & we build. The two aren't separate.

Most studios that design for short-term rentals have never run one. Nest & Nook is the other way around — the work comes out of a real property, a real booking calendar, and three decades of design behind both.

The Short Version

I'm Jennifer — designer, host, and unrepentant systems geek.

I spent thirty years in interior design before I ever touched a booking engine — and I've been designing on Squarespace since 2017, long before "direct booking" was a phrase hosts used. Then I built and started self-managing Fjellsangin, our cabin near Mount Rainier, and learned the part the design world leaves out: a beautiful property that depends on Airbnb isn't a brand. It's a listing with good photos.

Nest & Nook exists to close that gap for other owners — to take the property you've built and give it a brand, a website, and the systems to run on its own terms. Not someone else's platform. Yours.

What We Believe

A few things we'll say out loud.

The platform fee isn't the real cost - the relationship is.

Airbnb takes 15.5% and keeps the guest's email, the review, and the rebooking. The fee stings once. Losing the relationship costs you every booking after the first.

A brand isn't colors and fonts.

It's the experience guests have at your property — and what they do after they leave. Identity and website are how that experience gets communicated, not the thing itself.

Hosts search by property type, not by mood.

Nobody Googles "organic modern rental." They search "cabin near Rainier." We build for how owners and guests actually look for things — which is why our templates are organized by what you own.
